Skinos is the ancient name for Mastiha. The remarkable flavor of this clear spirit is hard to describe: it smells like a sun-drenched rocky Mediterranean hillside covered in wild herbs, like crushed juniper berries and fresh-torn spearmint leaves, like the hauntingly deep aromas of rain-soaked cedar wood and violet essential oil. It is gently sweet yet refreshing, fulsome yet delicate, and its balance makes Skinos highly versatile. It can be served neat, chilled, as an aperitif or digestif, or used in innovative cocktails or as a flavor enhancer in the kitchen with fish and other foods for a distinctly Mediterranean twist.
This distinctive taste and exceptional aroma has earned Skinos medals in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (2011 & 2013) and the Spirits International Prestige Awards (2013 & 2014) as well one of the “Top Notable Flavours of 2014” in Imbibe International Spirits Magazine. Today Skinos Mastiha Spirit is one of the fastest growing spirits in the Mediterranean area with exports in more than 15 markets worldwide, and represents the great values of the Mediterranean way of living. Bartenders and mixologists are excited with Skinos’s unmistakable taste and aroma and enjoy in chilled shots or in refreshing cocktails.
